1728 entire Exeter to Launceston. Addressed to Mr Samuel Lyne, Attorney at Law in Launceston". Single line EXETER town mark type 3/5 (£40). Letter about issuing warrants and estate matters, as well as a complaint about postal services in their area! -
1734 Entire Essex Buildings to Marlborough. Addressed to "Mr William Hawkes Attorny at Law, Marlborough Wilts". 2 post paid on front and indistinct "03/SE" Bishop Mark type 1/4 (£40). Letter regarding entitlements or allocation on a deceased estate. Nice item -
1762 Entire to Liverpool. Addressed to "Mr Antrobus Surgeon, Chapel St, Liverpool". Clean and crisp Bishop Mark "2/NO" type 1/4 (£40), post paid 2 on front. An aged cover with some tears and aging, but translation on reverse adds a social interest -
1769 Entire to London. Addressed to "Mr Franc Barlow at the Crown Office, London". Post paid 2 on front, plus clean and crisp Bishop Mark "24/IY" type 1/4 (£40) plus 2 line MOR/PETH town mark type 3/6 (£60). 250 years old and still fresh as the day it was written! Translation included -

1842 letter to the East India Company enquiring of the whereabout of a soldier, Patrick Cassidy. The applicant filled in a pre-printed questionnaire. Notes on the questionnaire indicate that the soldier had died 8 years previous, and that the wages of the deceased had already been paid out to Mary Daly nee Cassidy. A wonderful and valuable piece of history -
One Penny pink embossed silk thread envelope from Crieff to Edinburgh, with 4-5-4 barred numeral "84" of Crieff, Crieff CDS on back dated JU-15-1856, and Edinburgh arrival stamp dated JN-16-1856 in red. Brightmore's "Postal Stationery of Great Britain" lists this one as No. 3 issued 1850, as it contains the pink seal device on back flap Very nice item -
One Penny pink embossed envelope (Brightmore No. 5, type 2a, size 5) dated 8/4/61 with Edinburgh duplex roller cancel with 131 variety stars by sides of numerals, dated AU-12-1861, backstamped by Gainsborough dated AU 13 1861. -
1868 One Penny Pink embossed envelope (dated 14/10/68) with "Posted Since 1030 last night" duplex cancel, with 131 with stars at sides of Edinburgh dated MAY-22-1869. Backstamp Peebles dated MY 22 69 code B. Nice clean piece -
