1842 letter to the East India Company enquiring of the whereabout of a soldier, Patrick Cassidy. The applicant filled in a pre-printed questionnaire. Notes on the questionnaire indicate that the soldier had died 8 years previous, and that the wages of the deceased had already been paid out to Mary Daly nee Cassidy. Item has 2 wax seals Bank of Ireland Skibbereen. Backstamped "Boston Mass Reg Div. OCT 21 1906". Wish it was a complete envelope, but great markings and very fresh
