Italy - massive parcel piece from Italy to Mildura "Contains Mineral sample for gift". Contains 7 copies of SG2896 the €2,80 Lace Making Textile stamps, plus 12 x €3,00 SG2742, and a block of 10 of the €0,02 Women in Art issue SG2706. Face Value of stamps is €55,80, cat value is £150. A bit battered, but an impressive high postage value parcel front. -
Home Leave ticket issued to Cpl RE Ambler from 2nd Field SQN AIF to Surrey Hills Victoria for a period of 24 days leave. Added to base in pencil "NOT issued with food coupons". On reverse it says issued 1 Mar 1944, "You are warned to report to Trantit Section Camp Pell at 0800 hours 28 Mar 1944. A fascinating piece of social history!
