Outer 1857 Edinburgh to Blairgowrie with experimental "roller" cancellation second type without vertical lines between numerals. Backstamped Edinburgh MAR-10-1857 and Blairgowrie MAR-11-1857 in green. Experimental roller cancels on cover are rare - I found a single with this cancel priced on Bill Barrell for £50!

Piece only (no address) 1857 with 1d red Star (TL corner cut away) tied by horizontal oval with "16" in diamond (Chigwell Victoria St) HO London thimble datestamp OC-12-1857 in blue (evening duty) and Edinburgh arrival stamp. A real shame the user cut away the address portion of the cover, as it is interesting usage

Entire 1853 Edinburgh to Stratford with 1d red imperf letter KG with 4 good to large margins, tied by barred numeral cancel 131 of Edinburgh, and also Edinburgh CDS Sep-22 and London arrival mark dated Sep-23-1853. This letter has then been correctly sent to Stratford at the first attempt (see item CSC-000190)! Nice piece

Entire 1848 Edinburgh to Alnwick with 1d red imperf on blued paper letters NK almost 4 margins (TR corner cut into), tied by barred numeral cancel 131 of Edinburgh, with twin arc CDS of Alnwick dated DE-31-1848 and Edinburgh datestamp of DE-30-1848. Also has a Mae West type "Too Late" handstamp, which according to records was the 2nd last day of use for this mark in Edinburgh. Great item, and late usage such as this is rare.

Entire 1847 Edinburgh to Greenock with 1d red imperf letters MJ nice 4 margin example tied by 4-5-4 barred numeral handstamp 131 of Edinburgh, backstamped by double arc Greenock CDS dated AP-3-1847 in blue, and Edinburgh datestamp of same date. Nice item with interesting contents re payments for an estate.

One Penny pink embossed silk thread envelope from Crieff to Edinburgh, with 4-5-4 barred numeral "84" of Crieff, Crieff CDS on back dated JU-15-1856, and Edinburgh arrival stamp dated JN-16-1856 in red. Brightmore's "Postal Stationery of Great Britain" lists this one as No. 3 issued 1850, as it contains the pink seal device on back flap Very nice item

Free Front Carlow (Ireland) to W Lane, Sailor, No. 5 Barry St, London. With Single circle crown inside "Apple" style free mark dated JUL 1 1806, and Dublin Free Mark double circle with "DUB" dated JU-27-1806, and centre inverted! Signed John O'Neill, MP for County Antrim. Very rare marks, and with inverted centre added on. Min cat £325, super item for the specialist
