Free Front Windsor to London. Free mark double rim crown inside in red dated JA 8 1840 (type 1A/11 triple price as 1840 dated £45). Free post ended 31/12/1839, but they allowed it to continue until 11/1/1840 to ensure all letters were cleared. This one stamped 8th Jan, 3 days before the end of the service. A rare and stunning piece!
